The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) was founded in 1976 by the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) - Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK) is a German semi-governmental organization and member of the world-wide German Chambers Network (AHKs). AHK promotes and supports trade relations between Germany and the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar, and in particular supports German companies in building up and extending their business in the region. Since May 2009 the AHK in the UAE has obtained the status of a bilateral membership organization, with German and local member companies.

At 120 locations in 80 countries around the world, AHKs offer their experience, connections and services to German and foreign companies. AHKs are one of the main pillars of the German foreign trade and are located in all countries which are of special interest for German companies.
 
AHKs fulfill three main tasks in their locations:
