Local exporters receive support from UAE Government through “The First Exporters Forum” Print E-mail

Dubai Export Development Corporation (EDC) has successfully organised the “First Exporters Forum” – under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy – which demonstrated the government’s support to the industrial and export sector in the country.

Entitled “Together to Support UAE Exports”, the forum convened heads of different government departments led by H.E. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shihhi, Director General of the Ministry of Economy; H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Director General of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade; and H.E. Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) among others. More than 250 UAE-based firms attended the event including a number of representatives of Federal and local government bodies responsible for trade & economic development

The First Exporters Forum to bolster UAE Exports Print E-mail

Government agencies convene to support exporters in the country

The First Exporters Forum, due to be held on 9th November at Raffles Hotel Dubai – Wafi City, convenes heads of Dubai Government agencies together with local traders, exporters and federal & government employees under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy, UAE, with the aim of boosting the country’s exports.

In 2008, the UAE’s total non-oil exports increased to AED60.36 billion over AED36.26 billion in 2007, a hike of 66.5%, according to the UAE Ministry of Economy. According to Dubai Trade (Dubai World), the total direct exports from Dubai in 2008 amounted to AED 42.64 billion, an increase of 57.5% compared to 2007.
